Here you’ll find all the information you need on our camp at Rough Close Scout Campsite, Coventry in October 2022
We are going to Rough Close Scout Campsite, Tanners Lane, Berkswell, CV7 7DD. Rough Close is a 43-acre campsite and activity centre located 4.5 miles from Coventry City centre on the western outskirts of the City.
The activity will take place Friday 7th to Sunday 9th October 2022 – we’ll confirm the times nearer the time.
Accommodation will be a mix of indoor dormitories for Beavers and younger Cubs, whilst older Cubs and Scouts will be camping outside in tents.
The cost is £10 thanks to funding and subsidy by the Group. This will include a full programme of activities and full catering.
Once you have booked, you will need to make payment of the deposit to the Scout Group Bank Account by electronic transfer, using the reference: “Your Child’s Name + RC2022”
We do not want cost to be a barrier to any Scout member taking part in activities, so please do contact us for a confidential chat if you have any concerns around the cost of this event.
Please use the Eventbrite link which has been emailed out to make your booking. You will need to complete a separate booking for each child attending. Once you have booked please make payment as above. Note that the event does say FREE, this is so we can use Eventbrite as our booking system, the cost of the event is as above.
We will issue a full kit list nearer the time – you will need the usual personal kit including a sleeping bag, sleeping mat (for those camping), waterproof coat, spare clothes and a spare pair of footwear. This will need to be packed into one rucksack or holdall to ensure we don’t lose anything whilst travelling (please no plastic bags/bin bags).
Children MUST NOT bring mobile phones or tablets or any other electronic devices – this is for their own online safety as we can not monitor their activity at all times during the weekend.
We’ll have emergency contact details in place in case you need to get in touch with us or we need to get hold of you – so please don’t worry.
Please don’t send any other electronics – they won’t be insured for damage, and they won’t need them – they’ll be too busy enjoying the outdoors!
Please also don’t send food or sweets of any kind – everything will be provided and this just attracts creepy crawlies!
Parent’s will need to provide their own transport to Rough Close, we will provide directions and arrival instructions prior to the weekend. Unfortunatley as leaders we aren’t able to help with travel.
The residential will be run by a team from 232nd Birmingham led by Adam Brinkworth who will be the leader in charge and nights away permit holder for the weekend.
Adam (Group Adminstrator) will look after bookings – adam@232scouts.org.uk
Helen (Group Treasurer) will look after payments – helen@232scouts.org.uk
Yes, you will complete this online, but we will sort this out nearer the time. We will also confirm our emergency contact details at the same time.
Not a problem – two leaders will ensure this is administered correctly – we will send out further details on this nearer the time.
If we’ve missed anything or you have any other questions, get in touch on info@232scouts.org.uk
